NEUROLOGICAL FEEDBACK

WHAT IS IT?
This is a technique which trains the patient to consciously control his or her brainwaves. These waves are detected by sensors placed on the scalp and “fed back” to you in the form of sound or visual display. You will be encouraged to change the brainwaves to the desired pattern. Then, there is further feedback to you depending on how the brainwaves change. After repeated sessions, you will learn to sense and control the brainwaves by yourself.

WHO WOULD IT HELP?
It has been most extensively researched for use in ADHD, but may also be helpful for concentration difficulty, headaches, anxiety, depression, OCD and others. A drawback is that it is usually not covered by insurance.
